A large arthrodire fish that existed during the Late Devonian period. This specific model is based off of D. terrelli, as presented by Engelman in 2023.

Modeled and animated in Maya Textured in Substance Painter

I'm working on transitioning to working mostly in maya as I have been in 3DS max for over a decade. Wanted to start with something simpler to work on the fundamentals of the whole pipeline for the software.

Started off with a sketch based off of D. terrelli, as presented by Engelman in 2023.

I wanted something fairly simple that wouldn't need much texturing work so I could focus on building up my maya skills.

I wanted something fairly simple that wouldn't need much texturing work so I could focus on building up my maya skills.

Then moved it into Maya for modeling and UV unwrapping. The teeth were created from curves while the body and eyes started as shapes.

The model was then brought into substance painter for a quick texturing.
