My remake of the Dead By Daylight video game generators. All contained within two maps with high poly details baked into normal maps using the standard PBR processes.
I started off by gathering reference. Eric Bourdages made the actual generator and had some great images on his artstation. I also went in game and took a lot of screenshots for more angles. I used PureRef to have them all up while modeling.
I then modeled a low (yellow) and high (red) poly model of each unique part. The red was used to project detail down to the low poly model.
Some closer looks at the two versions.
As I only modeled one of each unique part to save on texture space, I then made an instanced versions of all reused parts in order to create the full generator. This was done after UV's were laid out.
The generator has two textures with a quick look here to show what parts were grouped together.
With the two materials and the model ready I moved the non instanced parts into substance painter to project the high poly information as well as the color, wear, and other details.
